Collier High School's Art Walk was a stunning showcase of creativity last week! Students and staff had the opportunity to view Collier students' art on a beautiful walk through the nature of Collier. Students' work came from a variety of classes including Digital Photography, 雕塑, 工作室艺术, Video Game Design, 画 & Painting, and more! One student even programmed a video game! We're so proud of our students' dedication and creativity.
This month, we are celebrating National Speech Language Hearing Month! A big shoutout to our incredible speech therapists who empower our students with the speech skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom like articulation, 语言, and social communication.
Collier High School welcomed Collier alumni back to campus last week for our alumni panel! Our inspiring alumni reflected on their journeys to Collier, the lessons they have carried with them, and what they have been up to since.
Many shared the same sentiment, the journey can be uncertain, but is filled with endless possibilities! We are so grateful to our alumni for coming back to speak with our seniors on the exciting new chapter they are about to embark on!
Starting the week with Collier Schools' third positive affirmation: Respect. Respect yourself and others—it's so important!
As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, it is important to remind yourself that your words and actions have power to make a difference. Share this affirmation with someone who may need to be reminded of their kindness today!
Collier High School students took part in equine therapy this spring with Operation Hope. At Forever Farm, they connected with rescue horses through exercises like obstacle courses, 日志记录, and leadership activities. This therapy boosted their confidence and teamwork skills as they were tasked to collaborate with each other and the horses.
Students found the experience helped them think creatively and relate it to their own challenges. They quickly bonded with the horses, feeling a sense of similarity. Students had time to reflect and took home journals for further reflection as their time together continues. As we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, let's continue to support initiatives like equine therapy that promote well-being and resilience.
Collier High School's rendition of '9 to 5: The Musical' was nothing short of spectacular! Through art education efforts like our drama department students have the opportunity to express themselves and serve as a creative outlet. On stage and behind the scenes, our talented students poured their hearts into every aspect of the production, bringing the story by Dolly Parton to life. We're immensely proud of their dedication and passion, which truly shines through! A huge thank you to our incredible staff and students who worked tirelessly to make this show a success!
